New Star Wars Barbie Doll – See This Mattel Release

The force sure is strong with the recently launched Star Wars Barbie collection. Your kids will not believe how great these dolls look, and how accurately the original characters have been replicated. Not only are they fierce, they are beautiful and inspirational. 

In celebration of Star Wars Day on May 4, Mattel introduced some new additions to their Star Wars Barbie collection with four new dolls. They were inspired by Star Wars characters like C-3PO, Rey, Stormtrooper and Chewbacca. You can purchase them from Amazon.com or Barbie.com.

The Chewbacca doll is however only available from Barbie.com. This is the second wave of the dolls that are inspired by Star Wars. They were designed by Robert Best, who is a senior director and a longtime Mattel artist. Each doll is retailing at $100 and we’re going to tell you all about them next.

The New Dolls

These dolls were inspired by the original art concept from the films. According to the Barbie website, the characters are reimagined through a distinct Barbie high-fashioned filter.

Rey

This is a portrayal of Daisy Ridley, and she wears a gauzy pleated gown that is made of chiffon and has been crisscrossed at the neckline to fall into a hood that is draped. It also comes complete with the added thick brown leather belt and a gold buckle. 

Additionally, she is wearing gold that is hammered with some more gold jewelry. She looks powerful and stunning.

Chewbacca

This is another very high-fashion doll that is an imagination of the beloved Wookie. The warrior in the doll wears a lavish faux coat made of fur and has a strapless dress and fur skirt. It also has a sheer organza bodice.

She is also wearing a furry headband with knee-high furry boots and is carrying an extremely fabulous handbag. This was all inspired by Wookie’s signature satchel and bandolier.

C-3PO

This C-3PO doll is simply glamorous and gorgeous in gold. The doll was inspired by the always faithful droid and is dressed from head to toe in gold. The mini-dress she is wearing was created out of sequins and sheer organza and also includes some knee-high golden boots. 

She also has gold bangles, a golden collar, golden glasses and all were inspired by the famous droid. The gold medallion belt is supposed to resemble the power outlet for C-3PO.

Stormtrooper

Finally, the Stormtrooper is the most classic of all the dolls. It is based on the original Stormtrooper design and looks extremely elegant and real. The look is made up of a shiny bodysuit that is black in color, which shall evoke a leather feel. 

She has on dark glasses and a bob hair style to create for you the illusion of having a Stormtrooper helmet. The sunglasses can come off if you want, and what they reveal is a very heavy eyeliner that is black in color, and some periwinkle/silver eye-shadow highlights the blue tint in her beautiful bob.

Originally, the concept and sketch from the Barbie sketch were made of blue and lavender streaks. She looks chic and powerful in her mini-dress that is black along with the latex-looking bodysuit with a belt at her waist. She also has some armor on her hands, and if you look closely, her knee-high boots come with a plate and knee protector detail
